What medium are your original paintings?
I work in acrylic paint, oil pastels/sticks and pencils. I also use collage which is usually paper or fabric.
What finishing do you use on the surface of the painting?
Each painting is finished with a sealing coat of clear acrylic. Then it is given two coats of UVLS satin varnish.
Are your paintings framed?
It varies. I do most of my medium and large work on canvas and sell them unstretched and unframed. This is a much more cost effective method when shipping internationally. When you receive the painting you can get it stretched and choose your own frame if you want. Some people prefer the modern look of large paintings unframed. If you want a frame, you can choose when you have the painting with you – it’s easier to decide that way! A slimline box frame looks great with a canvas.
Having said that, I do have some of my paintings framed and have shipped large and medium sized framed paintings overseas many times. If you choose a framed painting and don’t want the frame, I can remove it and just send the canvas. The cost of the frame would be removed from the final price.
All my small paintings are on panels and usually come with a frame.
Details regarding the frame will be with each work. Please contact me if you would like bespoke advice or have any further questions – framing can be an art in itself!
Will my painting be ready to hang?
If the painting is framed, or is a cradled wood panel it will come all ready to hang. You just need to decide where!
Purchasing with a deposit
Some original paintings have been set up allowing you to purchase in stages. As the value of my work grows I understand this can be a helpful option. You can check out with a 50% deposit payable online today. The balance can be paid in full, or payable in 2 monthly payments of 25% each. Options will be emailed to you. By purchasing you understand that this is a deposit to secure your artwork and you will be required to pay the remaining balance.
This is not a credit scheme, but an arrangement on trust, at no extra cost to you. Usual shipping costs and return policy will apply.
Can I purchase your work with a different payment plan?
Yes, that can be arranged. For any work over $1000 you can pay in installments. Please send me a message and we can work out an arrangement that suits you. As soon as the final payment is made, your work will be shipped to you.
My favourite painting has sold – how can I be sure to know about new work?
Some pieces sell very quickly. Make sure you join my mailing list to find out about new work before it is added to the Shop. But, as I try not to bombard you with emails, you can also follow studio progress on Instagram or Facebook to see work coming up.
How will my painting be wrapped?
Unstretched canvas paintings will be rolled in calico and sent in a wide heavy duty tube with end caps. Framed or paintings on cradled wood panels will be carefully packed using corner protection, bubble wrap and cardboard. Because of size etc. each painting is unique so I take care that it’s well protected to arrive in perfect condition. For further details about delivery please see the Shipping details.
Do you do special commissions?
I can do commissions but I have to have the freedom to produce my best work. We can talk!
